Come out to enjoy the trails at Lake Crabtree before they close to the public. Invitation is open to mountain bikers, trail runners, hikers, ALL trail lovers. So help us spread the word. Let’s pack the trails. This started out as “hey let’s do a (likely) final group ride at Lake Crabtree”. But we’ve seen an outpouring from many groups that want to show their support for saving Lake Crabtree Park. So, we figured let’s do a huge gathering on the field, show our support for Wake County Parks, and do a group ride / run / hike.
Group rides will leave first, followed by trail runners, then hikers, at staggered start times on a one-direction route courtesy of Roadless Races (see below).
Timeline:
… enjoy the day and camaraderie of fellow park and trail folks!
Parking:
It’s likely parking will be full. So come prepared to walk or bike into the park, bring a backpack/camelback w/ water/etc. There are lots of options for parking on the Old Reedy Creek Rd. corridor or biking in on those greenways. And just west of the park entrance on Aviation Pkwy are several large office parks.
Routes:
With such a big group suggest folks follow this route to keep one-way traffic, and to help spread the field of bikers, runners, and hikers. You have a few distance options. HUGE thanks to Jim from Roadless Races for organizing and marking the route!
