New Trail Project at Pickards Mountain

TORC and Unique Places to Save are developing a new trail system at Pickards Mountain outside of Chapel Hill, NC! This exciting project will be a boon to mountain bikers and nature lovers in this part of the Triangle.

Unique Places to Save, as owner of Pickards Mountain, has partnered with TORC to initiate the funding and future development of this 10-mile trail system.

We are working with Nature Trails LLC to complete the buildout of the trails. The (revised) goal is to complete Phase 1 of the trail network by the end of this year (2022) with the first 4 miles of trail.

And there will be gnar.

We are incorporating natural rock features to offer optional jump lines and drops in this project. This trail will not be boring.

How many feet of trail can you support?

The cost of building out Phase 1 will be $5.00 per foot of trail or approximately $100,000. We ask that you help us reach our goal by contributing what you can, whether it be 1 foot or 1,000 feet!

Phase 2 will be an additional 4-6 miles of trail so we’ll still need your help with fundraising after Phase 1 is complete.
